Product Description
Enjoy delicious new potatoes from your garden with these second cropping spuds. These specially selected tubers are put into temperature controlled storage to keep them dormant to the middle of summer so that they can be planted in late June through to early August to give you a crop which is later. They are ready in two/three months from planting but crops can then be left in the soil until you want them - they can even be used for fresh, home-grown spuds for Christmas lunch!
Plant the tubers as soon as received, they do not need to be chitted. Keep them frost-free to ensure good crop, if grown in bags move them to frost-free position. Best kept in the ground or container until just before needed.
This kit contains 1.5kg of tubers of our best selling variety Charlotte, ideal for late planting:
Charlotte - The French-bred, highly popular potato is the salad variety of choice of many discerning chefs. The smooth skinned potato tubers have a light yellow flesh which has a wonderful flavour and delightfully waxy texture. A further advantage of potato Charlotte is its resistance to both blight and scab.
PLUS, you'll receive 1 pack (3 planters) of patio planters for your potatoes!
Potato Patio Planters - Our tough and durable polypropylene potato growing sacks are just the job if you enjoy eating freshly harvested, home grown potatoes, but are a little short on space. With a 40 litre capacity, plenty of drainage holes and carrying handles for portability the potato growing sacks will give many years of service. They are also suitable for other tuberous and root crops, such as Jerusalem artichokes, carrots and parsnips. Size: Diameter 35cm/14in, Depth 45cm/18in.
