Rhubarb Timperley Early Crowns are a classic choice for extending the kitchen-garden season. This RHS Award of Garden Merit variety is a first-early, heavy-cropping rhubarb bred for forcing, producing thick stems that colour especially well when grown for an early forced crop.

Plant the premium one-year-old crowns in fertile, moisture-retentive soil and allow them to establish before harvesting heavily. Once mature, they're a reliable source of early rhubarb for crumbles, pies, compotes and preserves.
