Add a fresh citrusy zing and striking colour to home-grown salads with this attractive perennial herb. The acid-green leaves are marked with deep burgundy-red veins and are at their most tender when harvested young. Use the baby leaves in salads and garnishes or add more mature leaves to soups and sauces. Its compact, low-growing habit makes it ideal for pots and mixed patio containers.
