Potato Sharpe's Express (First Early Seed Potato) AGM

Product Description
Experience a piece of horticultural history with the AGM-winning Sharpe's Express potato: a true heirloom variety introduced in 1901 by Charles Sharpe of Lincolnshire. This beloved first early seed potato has been a favourite among home growers for generations, cherished for its reliability and exceptional flavour.
Sharpe's Express seed potatoes produce kidney-shaped tubers with bright white flesh and a superb traditional taste. Unlike most other early croppers, these are floury seed potatoes with a fluffy texture. Try them boiled or steamed whole in their skins, or bake them in the oven for delightfully crispy jackets.
This popular heritage seed potato matures early and bulks up quickly, offering excellent versatility early in the year. Gardening enthusiasts may recall the Sharpe's Express potato as the all-time favourite of renowned TV gardener and author Percy Thrower.
To maximise your Sharpe's Express potato harvest, we recommend chitting prior to planting out. This process encourages seed potatoes to sprout, allowing them to establish more readily and leading to bigger crops. Simply place them in an old egg box, blunt end up, until the shoots are approximately 1 ½ to 2½ cm (½ to 1in) long.
