Onion De Paris produces neat, slightly flattened white bulbs with a satisfyingly full onion flavour. Their small size makes them perfect for home-made pickles, while freshly harvested bulbs are equally good sliced into salads or added whole to casseroles, stews and roasted dishes. Sow little and often for a succession of versatile home-grown onions.

Sow outdoors March-July directly where the onions are to crop. Sow thinly around 1.5cm deep in rows 25cm apart; thinning is not usually necessary when growing for small pickling bulbs. Repeat sowings every two weeks for a succession of crops. Keep the soil well watered during dry periods and weed regularly. Harvest June-October.
