SOW OUTDOORS March-May, thinly in a well-prepared seed bed, 1.5cm/half-in deep. Keep the soil moist and thin seedlings as necessary. When the plants are approximately pencil thickness, lift carefully and transplant into the final growing position in June. Make holes approximately 15cm/6in deep, place one plant in each and fill the holes with water. Space plants 15cm/6in apart and keep well watered during prolonged dry weather.
