Below Zero combines vigorous growth with exceptional cold tolerance, producing uniform, pure white shanks that stand in excellent condition throughout winter and into spring. Its good resistance to leek rust provides extra reliability for a long and productive harvest from December through May.

SOW INDOORS February-March, thinly in trays of seed compost, 1.5cm/half-in deep. Harden off and plant out from late May-June, spacing plants 15cm/6in apart. SOW OUTDOORS March-May, thinly in a well-prepared seed bed, approximately 1.5cm/half-in deep. Transplant into the final growing position in June, spacing plants 15cm/6in apart. Plant deeply to encourage long, well-blanched shanks and keep well watered until established.
