Add exceptional colour and fresh flavour to your kitchen garden with these vibrant, electric-purple French beans. The slender, stringless pods grow to approximately 12cm/5in long and are exceptionally tender when picked young, turning green when cooked. Vigorous, bushy plants produce generous crops and show excellent resistance to bean mosaic virus and halo blight. Pick regularly to encourage a continuous harvest.

SOW INDOORS April-May, singly in pots of compost, 5cm/2in deep. Keep in a warm position and harden off after the risk of frost before planting out approximately 15cm/6in apart. SOW OUTDOORS May-July, 5cm/2in deep, spacing plants 15cm/6in apart in rows 45cm/18in apart. Keep well watered during flowering and pick the young pods regularly to encourage further crops.
