SOW INDOORS throughout the year in pots of compost and place on a warm, bright windowsill. SOW OUTDOORS March-May, thinly 0.5cm/quarter-in deep directly in the growing position. Thin seedlings to 20cm/8in apart and keep well watered. Pick the aromatic leaves as required. Gather the seed heads when they turn brown but before the seeds are fully ripe.
