Indoor Variety - An outstanding all-female strain, it has superb resistance to powdery mildew and scab. The straight, glossy, dark green fruits are slightly ribbed and can grow up to 40cm/16in long. The plants are notably cold-tolerant too. Perfect for exhibiting.

Genus: Cucumber
Sow indoors February-May, in 7.5cm/3in pots of compost, sow one seed on edge per pot, 1.5cm/half-inch deep. Temperature 68-77°F/20-25°C. Grow on when large enough to handle to further pots or trays, spacing 5cm/2in apart, grow on at 60°F/15°C. Transplant once 3-4 true leaves have formed, plant out in growing bags in the greenhouse, 45cm/18in apart. Train up wires and remove growing point at roof level. Harvest : July-October. Carmen F1 shows good resistance to powdery mildew. For more information about powdery mildew.
