Turn up the heat with this striking yellow form of the famous Carolina Reaper. The heavily wrinkled fruits ripen from green to bright yellow and combine an intensely fiery heat with a distinctive fruity flavour. The medium-sized plants are ideal for growing in a greenhouse or a sunny, sheltered patio container. The fruits are exceptionally hot and must be handled and prepared with great care.

SOW INDOORS February-April, thinly 0.5cm/quarter-in deep in pots or trays of compost. Keep at 20-25°C/68-75°F. After germination, grow on at 15-18°C/60-65°F. Transplant seedlings into individual 7.5cm/3in pots when approximately 5cm/2in tall, then move into patio containers, grow bags or the greenhouse border. For outdoor crops, harden off and plant out in June in a sunny, sheltered position. Wear gloves when harvesting and preparing the exceptionally hot fruits.
