Take home-grown heat to the extreme with this exceptionally fiery, UK-bred chilli. Vigorous, bushy plants produce generous crops of wrinkled fruits that ripen from green to red and combine intense heat with a distinctive fruity flavour. Armageddon F1 can reach approximately 1.3 million Scoville Heat Units and is not for the faint-hearted. Grow in a greenhouse or sunny patio container and always wear gloves when harvesting and preparing the fruits.

SOW INDOORS February-April, thinly 0.5cm/quarter-in deep in pots or trays of compost. Keep at 20-25°C/68-77°F. After germination, grow on at 15-18°C/60-65°F. Transplant seedlings into individual 7.5cm/3in pots when approximately 5cm/2in tall, then move into large containers, grow bags or a greenhouse border. Feed regularly after the fruits begin to form. Wear gloves when harvesting and preparing these exceptionally hot chillies.
