Grow a generous crop of broad beans even where space is limited. Robin Hood forms compact, bushy plants measuring just 30-45cm tall, making it ideal for patio containers, raised beds and smaller vegetable plots. Despite its modest size, this heavy-cropping variety produces good-sized pods containing 4-6 flavoursome green beans. An RHS Award of Garden Merit winner, it combines productivity with an easy-to-manage habit.

SOW OUTDOORS March-May, directly into the final growing position, 5cm/2in deep. Space seeds 23cm/9in apart in rows approximately 45cm/18in apart. Keep the soil moist, particularly when plants are flowering and pods are forming. Pick regularly once the beans have developed to encourage continued production. Suitable for freezing.
