Product Description
Pelleted Chicken Manure Fertiliser is everything you need for growing success all around the garden. Ideal for all flowers, shrubs, vegetables, lawns, outdoor pot plants, trees and roses. It is not a factory produced chemical fertiliser: it is poultry droppings in their modern, easy to use form. 6X is pelleted to produce a weed and bug free product which is so easy to use and virtually smell free.
6X 100% Natural Fertiliser Pellets have no added ingredients but still have all the trace elements so essential for garden life. 6 to 8 times richer than old fashioned farmyard manure and regular use encourages the earthworm population.
NPK 5:3:2.2 plus Magnesium, Calcium and all important trace elements.
pH 6.5-7
COVERAGE
The application rates quoted are for use as a rough guide. For general digging, feeding and soil conditioning, one bucket will treat about 72 sq. metres of ground (88 sq. yds.)
FLOWERS, VEGETABLES AND SOFT FRUIT
Two or three handfuls (140-210g) per square metre (4 – 6oz per sq. yd.) when planting and a good handful as a top dressing when required. Avoid direct, undiluted, contact with tender young plants – scatter pellets about 50 to 80cm (2-3in) away and work into surface of the soil. Repeat at 2-3 week intervals for heavy feeders such as tomatoes and beans.
ROSES
Use two or three handfuls to each rosebush when planting, one or two handfuls for established bushes when the buds begin to swell and again before the second flush of blooms.
LAWNS
Aerate well, scatter approximately a handful per square metre – brush well into the holes to enrich the soil under the turf. Water well. Do not use after applying other high nitrogen feeds – leave an interval of about two weeks.
LIQUID FEED
Dissolve one or two handfuls of pellets in 4.5ltr (1 gallon) of water to make a first class liquid feed for all plants. Especially good for grow bag plants such as cucumbers and tomatoes.
POT-PLANTS and HANGING BASKETS
About two handfuls to a bucket of potting medium. Top up with a pinch or two of pellets every two or three weeks in the growing season. Water in well.
COMPOSTING
Scatter a handful of pellets into each layer of garden waste added to the compost heap to enrich the compost and add trace elements.
LIME
Never apply lime and 6X at the same time. Allow at least three weeks and some wet weather after applying the lime.
SOIL CONDITIONING
6X feeds the soil rather than the plant. The rate of application, therefore, depends on your soil. Any amount will have a positive effect. Within reason, it is virtually impossible to add too much. Be sure to mix 6X thoroughly with the soil and avoid contact between unmixed manure and young delicate plants as, in common with any high nitrogen feed, it will be too rich. This could initially set back very young plants if not properly mixed and watered in. Plants only obtain their nourishment via their roots and therefore.... ALWAYS WATER WELL AFTER APPLICATION.
PRECAUTIONS can be stored from one season to the next, but if storing for later use, partially used buckets should be closed tightly and stored in a cool place. As with all garden products, sensible precautions should be taken: use gloves, wash hands after use, wash vegetables before eating, etc. Store only in the original container and keep tightly closed and in a safe place. Safely dispose of the bucket when empty. It is made of recyclable polypropylene. If you are allergic to chickens or feathers, avoid directly handling 6X Manure or breathing the dust.
Some pets like to eat manure and, whilst eating 6X will not normally cause a problem, it should be discouraged particularly in pets with a delicate digestion
