Growing Herb Plants

Though specific growing methods will somewhat differ from plant to plant, herb plants generally grow well in similar conditions. They will do well when grown in full sun with some shelter. Depending on your preference, they can be grown in plastic grow pots on windowsills or pots outdoors with varieties from our container herbs collection. Alternatively, they can be sown directly in the ground. Herb plants will need little maintenance other than regular watering and some pruning.

Do note, however, that particular varieties of herb plants, such as mint plants, will produce fantastic flavours but can easily take over a garden if not controlled, so are best grown in pots.

Most herbs are cut-and-come-again plants, meaning that they will continue to produce leaves once they are picked for continued harvests. In fact, it is recommended to regularly pick them, as this will encourage further growths and younger leaves will provide better flavour.
