Tough Ball F1 Onion Plants are a dependable choice for growers seeking beautifully uniform onions for the showbench and the kitchen. The firm, crisp bulbs develop strong golden-brown skins and are especially well suited to the under-250g exhibition class.

This productive variety offers good resistance to bolting, helping you achieve an attractive, consistent harvest. Supplied as module-raised young plants, it saves the time involved in raising onions from seed. Plant in a sunny position in fertile, free-draining soil and keep weed-free as the bulbs develop.

Quality Young Plants

Our young plants are grown in individual large plug cells and supplied as strong, well-rooted plants, typically measuring approximately 6–12cm from the plug base to the plant tip. Pot into 6–7cm pots to grow on, keeping them in a bright, frost-free position until established. Gradually harden off before planting outside when conditions are suitable. A full growing guide is included to help you get the best from your plants.
