Spring Onion Guardsman is a vigorous, upright variety producing long, clean white shanks with plenty of fresh onion flavour for salads, stir-fries and garnishes. Winter hardy and suitable for both spring and autumn sowing, it is slow to bolt and offers useful resistance to white rot. Sow little and often for a dependable supply of crisp home-grown spring onions from late spring into autumn.

Position: Full Sun and Partial Shade
Sow outdoors March-October directly into the growing position, around 1.5cm deep. Sow thinly in rows approximately 15cm apart and thin seedlings as necessary. Keep plants well watered, particularly during dry spells. Make regular sowings for a continuous supply of crisp, tender spring onions. Harvest from May onwards as required.
