Golden Wonder Potato Late Maincrop 1kg
A traditional heritage variety with golden russet skin, Golden Wonder is dry, floury and very tasty, particularly when stored into the New Year. Golden Wonder potato crisps were first created in 1947 by William Alexander, a Scottish baker in Edinburgh, who named both the company and the crisps after this variety. The brand became a major player in the UK crisp market, notably launching the first flavoured crisp, cheese and onion, in 1962.
Plants grow upright and compact, reaching around 60cm tall, and produce attractive violet-blue flowers before setting their heavy crops of tubers. With a floury texture that makes them excellent for roasting and chips, Golden Wonder potatoes combine heritage character with outstanding flavour and keeping quality. Supplied as a 1kg pack (approx. 8–14 tubers), Sunset produces a rewarding harvest from September.
