Compact Sweet Pepper Grafted Collection-April brings together three compact varieties for a colourful harvest of sweet red, yellow and orange peppers. You will receive one plant each of Pillar Sweet Red, Pillar Sweet Yellow and Pillar Sweet Orange, giving you a versatile selection of fresh, home-grown ingredients for salads, cooking, roasting and snacking. Fruits develop along the central stems, creating compact, upright plants that are easy to manage and ideal for patios, containers and smaller growing spaces.
Each variety produces peppers that begin green before ripening to their distinctive red, yellow or orange colour, allowing you to enjoy a vibrant mixture of flavours and colours from your harvest. Bred for productive, high-density cropping with minimal maintenance, the compact plants are an excellent way to grow a useful selection of sweet peppers without needing lots of space.
Grafted vegetable plants offer greater vigour and improved resistance to soil-borne pests and diseases, such as nematodes – particularly useful when growing in greenhouse border soil each year where crop rotation can be limited. The grafting process combines a vigorous species rootstock with a productive hybrid variety, helping to produce stronger plants, heavier yields and a longer cropping life than standard seedlings.
Traditionally suited to greenhouse growing, these plants can also crop well outdoors in a warm, sunny and sheltered position. Keep them well watered and fed during active growth to encourage a plentiful harvest. Please do not remove the plastic grafting clips – they will fall off naturally as the plants grow.
