Fennel Seeds

A versatile ingredient Florence Fennel also has medicinal properties and will add ornamental interest to your vegetable garden. It can be a bit tricky to grow but is well worth the time care and effort as it’s a great addition to the plate with its tasty sweet flavour with a hint of aniseed.

Fennel enjoys growing in warm and moist conditions in well-drained fertile soil. Ensure that well-rooted manure or compost is added to the soil. Harvest when the bulbs start to swell usually during the summer through to the autumn.
