Sow Indoors: January-March, thinly 0.5cm/quarter-inch deep in trays of seed compost. Harden off late May then plant out, spacing 15cm/6in apart with 30cm/1ft between rows.

Sow Outdoors: April-May, thinly 1.5cm/half-inch deep, in a well prepared seed bed. Transplant to final position in June, spacing 15cm/6in apart with 30cm/1ft between rows.
