A flattened looking pak choi which is remarkably cold-tolerant and produces green/white stems. A mild flavour and a perfect steamed, or stir fried, tasty winter veg! Emperor's Savoy has a tendency to bolt when it is too hot and thus it is a great choice for cooler autumn sowings.
Sow outdoors April - September, thinly into finely prepared soil, 1in/2.5cm deep, allow 12in/30cm between rows, thin out to 4in/10cm apart for mature plants, or harvest unthinned for ‘baby leaf’. Sow indoors October – March to grow in a tunnel or greenhouse, in trays of compost in gentle warmth. Transplant to greenhouse border or large pots when approx. 3in/7.5cm tall. Harvest: outdoor sowings are ready from approx. 21-35 days, indoor sowings from 60 days.
