Raspberry Glen Coe Fruit Plant (Floricane)
Despatches From 20th March 2024.
Here's a novel raspberry for you to try. Glen Coe was bred at the Scottish Crop Research Institute, the fruits are a very deep purple, sometimes described as black, and make a talking point in the garden and the kitchen! Glen Coe is a vigorous Floricane variety which produces high yields of raspberries and one plant will form a multi-stemmed clump. The mid-season fruits are typically 3g, firm, round-conical with an intense flavour. Glen Coe's rich coloured fruits are ideal fresh or for jams, juice, yoghurts etc. where its intense flavour comes to the fore. Glen Coe is a good garden variety showing resistance to Verticillium wilt. Supplied in a 2ltr pot.
The 2ltr plants are, on average, a year older than 9cm potted varieties and due to the larger pot, the roots have more room to grow and develop which in turn allows them to absorb more nutrition, resulting in stronger and healthier plants.
Floricane varieties fruit on canes produced in the previous year while Primocane varieties produce fruits on current season growth.
