Description

Asters come in a wide range of flower forms and colours; lots to choose from. The dwarf types are perfect for bedding and edging, whilst the taller varieties make excellent, long lasting, cut flowers. Best grown in well-drained soil in a sunny spot. Large fully double, chrysanthemum type heads in a range of colours. An excellent cut flower.

SOW INDOORS March-April in trays of seed compost, at a temperature of 60-68°F/15-20°C. Growing on, thin out as necessary. Harden off indoor raised plants, planting out in late May or early June. Spacing 18in (45cm) apart. SOW OUTDOORS April-May, thinly, a half-inch/1.5cm deep in flowering position. Keep moist. Remove dead flower heads to prolong flowering. Flowers July-September
