Paw Paw's are ultra- hardy, deciduous large shrub or small tree. It is a native of the temperate woodlands of the eastern United States and is also known as the Red Indians' Banana. Paw Paw plants are elegant and handsome subjects with its long, dark, exotic looking green leaves and maroon flowers, which are followed by the large, mango like fruits.

Paw Paw's have a flavour akin to both mango and banana. Paw Paw plants do best in deep, fertile soil (not chalky though) and in full sun and is attractive enough to warrant a place in all good-sized gardens. Paw Paw plants are generally pest and disease-free.
