Asparagus Pea Seeds

Not related to asparagus or the pea, this misleadingly-named vegetable produces compact plants. The little winged seed pods which follow the maroon flowers should be picked when no more than 2.5cm/1in, steamed and tossed in butter when they are reminiscent of the flavour and texture of asparagus.
