NEW VEG SEED AT BARGAIN PRICES

In our new catalgoue we have a super range of eight not-yet-released vegetable seeds. We are currently trialling them with a view to future introduction, and invites our gardeners to do likewise. All eight are keenly priced to reflect their ‘on trial’ status, and we look forward to feedback from those who plan to grow them. The idea is already taking off, with plenty of customers ordering these trial varieties.

It’s not easy keeping up with all the vegetable breeding developments but in our view the best test of any variety is how it performs in our customers’ gardens. We are especially keen to hear news of Watermelon Red Star F1 (£1.99 for five seeds), which did well in last summer’s trial at D. T. Brown. We believe that, even with our unreliable summers, Red Star gives us a real chance to grow watermelons here in the UK.

Other trial varieties on offer include Beetroot Bettollo F1 (£0.49 for 50 seeds), which is a ‘sweet beet’ due to its high sugar levels, Cabbage Sennan F1 (£0.99 for 20 seeds), classy, ball-headed spring cabbage, and the exclusive Courgette Best of British F1 (£1.49 for 10 seeds), which has an open habit allowing sunshine in and helping to keep disease out.
