The numbers of allotment plots across the country has been rapidly declining for some years which is bad news, especially as allotment gardening has taken off again in a big way. The SWCAA was formed to promote and protect these precious green spaces.  It is becoming more evident that there are not enough allotments to go round, after years of neglect supply can no longer meet demand.  All across the country waiting list are long with people being told they will have to wait up to seven years for an allotment. Most people can expect at least a two year wait. 

We are concerned about the lack of allotment sites across the country and believe more should be being done to protect them.  We urge everyone out there who is stuck on a waiting list to take action.  The SWCAA are looking for active local groups across the country join us in supporting the modern development of allotment gardening.
