Growing Seed Potatoes

Growing seed potatoes is a remarkably easy and rewarding endeavour for any gardener. Our range includes a variety of extra early seed potatoes, second-cropping seed potatoes, and maincrop seed potatoes, ensuring a continuous supply of delicious homegrown goodness throughout the season.

To grow your potatoes, you should plant them in a sunny growing location with fertile, well-draining soil. You can also grow potatoes in potato grow sacks, or even black bin liners, if limited on space.

When you plant them will depend on what type of seed potato you're planting. You should plant your potatoes around late March for first earlies, early to mid-April for second earlies and mid-to-late April for maincrops.

Your first earlies should be ready to lift in June and July, second earlies in July and August, and maincrops from late August through October. As the plants grow, earth them up regularly to enjoy a plentiful harvest.
