Potato Mayan Gold - Maincrop

This golden coloured gourmet potato has an unrivalled nutty flavour. Perfect for roasts, chips and crisping, Mayan Gold is already a first choice for many notable TV chefs for use in their own restaurants due to its unique and creamy flavour. The long, oval tubers are very attractive but don’t boil as tubers will quickly go to mush.
 

Potato Mayan Queen - Maincrop

This high yielding variety was the second Mayan introduction and, again, is rated highly in taste tests and is a supermarket top of the range favourite. Perfect for roasting, baking and for wedges, Mayan Queen shows good disease resistance and has a deep yellow buttery flesh, a long oval

Potato Mayan Twilight - Maincrop

This very attractive red and white skinned potato has a deep yellow flesh with a sweet flavour. Best steamed, or hot and cold as salad potato, Mayan Twilight is definitely moreish, like all the Mayans. Very good disease resistance, particularly to scab.

Potato Tubs

Our tough and durable polypropylene potato tubs are just the job if you enjoy eating freshly harvested, home grown potatoes, but are a little short on space. With a 25 litre capacity, plenty of drainage holes and carrying handles for portability, they will give many years of service. They are also suitable for other tuberous and root crops, such as Jerusalem artichokes, carrots and parsnips.

(Second Early) Bred from the famed Pink Fir Apple, this outstanding variety is ready to harvest around 3 months earlier, so there is no need to wait for those firm, waxy tubers with that distinctive, rather nutty taste. Anya’s tubers are also smoother and much less knobbly perfect served peeled or unpeeled, hot or cold. Plants are highly resistant to scab.
 

Potato, Arran Pilot

(First Early) Britain’s favourite first early for 30 years, it is still a very good
all-rounder. The oval tubers of medium size have shallow eyes, white skin and creamy white flesh. Plants show good drought-tolerance and scab-resistance.
 

Potato, Bambino

This round-tubered, white second early comes highly recommended for steaming or boiling. It gives a high yield of very tasty, less waxy medium-sized potatoes and really does reward eating when freshly dug. As an added bonus it is resistant to many diseases and eelworm. 

Potato, Belle de Fontenay

(Maincrop) Introduced in 1885, this French-bred favourite has a fine flavour
and waxy texture. Great for salads, excellent sautéed or crushed and absolutely irresistible eaten cold with the skin still on! The tubers are long and slightly curved.

(Maincrop) A great favourite with our allotmenteer customers. Cara gives heavy yields of smooth skinned, round tubers with shallow red eyes. It is ideal for baking and plants have good resistance to eelworm, virus and blight.

(Second Early) This French-bred, highly popular potato is the salad variety of choice of many discerning chefs. The smooth skinned tubers have

(First early) Scotland’s favourite early, where it is traditionally tossed in
