Raised beds are considered by many experts to be the most efficient means of growing plenty of vegetables in a small space. They drain well, warm up earlier and the soil or compost does not become compacted by being walked upon. Raised beds can be used either on bare soil or on paved or concreted areas such as a patio or terrace.

A wonderful idea for those new to vegetable growing or anyone who has only limited space or very poor soil, but loves the idea of freshly picked veg. Our kit, injection moulded from recycled materials, takes just minutes to assemble and can be packed flat when not in use. It measures 1m², has a working height of 25cm (10in) and a capacity of 230 litres. Its modular design means that one placed on top of another gives a bed of double height (perfect for exhibition quality carrots and parsnips) or placed side by side to form a large rectangle of standard height. The possibilities are almost endless!
