Sowing and Propagation

Rootrainers are the ideal way to ensure that you get the best performance from your seeds. Each seed is sown in its own individual cell and the trays can be opened up like a book to check moisture levels or root development. When the time comes to transplant, each plant can be easily popped out of its cell for easy transplanting, with minimal root disruption. Sowing in rootrainers is great for seeds such as root vegetables, which have a reputation for not taking well to being transplanted. Deep rootrainers are ideal for plants with large or delicate tap roots, such as sweet corn, broad beans, runner beans, french beans or sweet peas.
